Report: | First up was Howard v Ranson and oh my this definitely won’t go down as one to watch in the coaching manual. A very scrappy affair with the longest rally being 4 shot but in the end the more classier Ranson took control to grind out the win. Next up Old campaigner Hilley v newcomer Iqbal and although the young pretender got off to a good start Hilley had just too much this time and got the win. Then came Gorski v Caffrey which was very fast and furious 5 setter with Caffery running out of steam in the 5th, (he needs to get fit) next up we had Evans v Stanners and this was without doubt the match of the season so far. It reminded me of an old classic boxing match from years gone by Eubank v Benn where both fighters were slugging it out right to the last bell with neither knowing who would take the final knockout 🤛. Stanners finally came through a monumental bout to land the final knockout shot GREAT GAME. Last up we had Elmsley v Broughton and not to be outdone by the epic match before we were treated to another superb 5 set thriller (not in Manilla) in Whitefield 😂 this again came down to a battle of will and determination with Boughton just getting the edge in the 5th due to his superior fitness and tenacity round the court. What a fantastic night well played and great win for Rochdale |
