| Report: | Fantastic movement and a deserved win for Marple’s Matt Miller, to get past Lee Gregson’s reach and volleys.
Couldn’t peel our eyes away from Brian and Rick’s close match - Brian’s lob serve and formidable volley drops proved too much for Rick, despite his work rate and impressive straight drives.
James and Gerard had a heated battle for the T; James’ power and tenacity took it 3-1 despite Gerard’s athleticism and pace around the court.
Gareth’s touch and shot selection at front of the court was impressive but struggled to find a way into the match on account of Luke’s powerful overhead serve and accuracy into the back corners.
Alan has played “50 years in the NWCSL” but isn’t slowing down - his movement, shot selection and winners just Edged it 3-2 after a quality comeback from Tom.
Many thanks to our opponents for 5 fantastic matches and staying to sample our new and much needed post-match food! We look forward to coming to Marple next time.
