Report: | NWCSL is back!! these teams were the best of the rest behind Whitby and Chester 3 in Div 4SW last season but accepted NWCSL kind invitation to step up to Div 3SW
i don't think that any of these players thought they would be playing in this opening match but unavailability had struck both clubs.
first up were the captains and Andy's long summer of training stood him in good stead and he was just too good for willo, although some of his 'wood' shots beggared belief. That said you do not pay all that money just for the strings.
The respective 'road runners' were evenly matched but Craig just ran out of gas first.as Joss took the spoils
on the same theme, the battle of the wily coyotes was won by sharp edging past Pete in three closely contested games.
Shaun threw up his high risk, high reward serves. some went out but those that stayed in were absolutely delicious and he was soon 2-0 up.
a spirited recovery saw Mark take the third but Shaun regained the uooer hand to win in 4 games and the bonus points were heading off down the A41 and A540.
as ever, no such thing as a dead rubber and so it proved tonight with each team's wham bam thank you mam hard hitter doing their utmost to break the ball, the tin also took quite a hammering Honours even after two, the third game went into overtime but Harvey snook it and then raced through the fourth for consolation points for the hosts
and so we retired to the bar for some superb Bangers & Mash. rumour has it that Neston will be providing pies for supper, possibly made by their own Sweeney Todd (Adam ?!?!)
as the evening drew to a close we were all wondering if we would be meeting again on 9th October when tattenhall 4 play Neston 5 in Div 4SW .... perhaps 🤔
