No match for Tattenhall 4 tonight so both courts available for this match.
to increase bar takings U18s not allowed to play first so Max was first on court and got off to a flying start but Dan would have to retire injured in the third. 🍺
on the Taylor 4 x 4 court, Trev and Marcus had been playing since 5.30 so were almost crawling off court when willo and Paul knocked on the door.
willo would play get ahead, stay ahead squash and squeeze home in three close games and the hosts were two up.
poor captaincy by willo meant that Ethan and Tom were on different courts at the same time, giving Mum & Dad the difficult decision .... which son to watch ? 🤔
Tom and Andy would go toe to toe to see who could hit the ball the hardest ~ it was probably a draw with both hitting great lengths. some audacious nicks and brilliant boasts but Tom would prevail and the bonus points were secure.
on the Taylor 4x4 court Jim would get little change out of younger brother Ethan, Tattenhall were four up and Mum and Dad were happy parents
As ever, there is no such thing as a dead rubber and so it would prove this evening as with glasses charged and a full balcony, the No 1s took to the court.
a couple of tight games, a couple of games where each player would dominate proceedings within see saw squash would get us to 2-2.
more errors than winners, conversations with the marker and some handbags as both players battled, almost literally for control of the T
toby would save three match balls to take the game into overtime, then both players would save match balls before eventually it would be Toby would edge the ffith 16 - 14 prevent a clean sweep for the hosts.
only 5th December but never too early for a sumptious Christmas dinner with all the trimmings 🎅 Ho Ho Ho !
