Report:So another NWCSL season draws to a close and with holiday season meaning call ups to first team for Max and Ethan and back injuries depriving Neston of Double Barrel amd Live Wire Adam both teams were drawing on the experience and expertise of Giles, Salty and Shaun respectively.

once these excuses were out of the way a celebration of squash ensued. Wily old willo overcame his nose bleed of playing at No 1 to stretch James to five sets before youth and fitness would overcome experience and our guests were one up.

On the other court 'Captain fantastic' would out run Giles in another epic five setter,

Liam has been on a purple patch recently but having been promoted to No 2 would get no change out of hard hitting Nick, whose demolition of our talented youngster almost warranted a call to Dame Esther Rantzen 🤣

Close games at no 5 string would see Salty get ahead and stay ahead to bring a little respectability to the score card for the home team.

the final match of the night and indeed the season would see Tom & Andy looking like Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones as Agents as Agents J and K which had the old farts amonst us reminiscing of times when all white kit was mandatory and most of us warmed up in a cricket sweater and played in Dunlop Green Flash pumps.

Their sartorial elegance was matched by some wonderful squash apart from Tom recording the lowest service of the season which was closer to the tin than the cut line 😥

Having lost to Ethan earlier in the season, Andy was determined not to lose to older brother Tom ~ nip and tuck for four games of see saw squash and to 8-8 in the fifth before Andy would edge ahead and clinch a third 5 set win of the night for the visitors.

the evening was completed by a superb chilli and jacket potato from (and i may be biased) the best catering and hospitality team in the League .... Thank you Andy and Justyna 🎉

talking of food, please may i add a huge personal thank you for Divi 3SW teams for accommodating my Gluten free dietary needs throughout the season.

looking at Divi 3SW a thoroughly enjoyable season of Squash ~ Congratulations to Brookside an excellent addition to the league but ultimately too strong so we wish you every success in Division 2 next season.

good luck to tattenhall in their Divi 2 play off on 2nd May v either LCC 4 or Xaverian 2

Congratulations to all league winners and best wishes for your respective play off competitions.

Finally a huge thanks to Uncle Geoffrey and NWCSL Committee without whom we would not be able to get out every Thursday and play this wonderful sport we enjoy so much !!!

Summer well everybody and we look forward to doing it all again from probably Thursday 19th September
