| Report: | the competition for 5th place between our guests, ourselves and barnton is as tight as a duck's proverbial with just 3 points between us, but having only played our rearranged match two weeks ago, this was a sense of deja vu as the visitors took the spoils back over the border to move away from the chasing pair,
captains on first with the 'well nourished' pair competing for control of the T. Nip and Tuck in all four games with willo just sneaking through by the tightest of margins.
On the other court, Rhys, having been lame just two weeks ago, was moving like a thoroughbred to beat Ethan in three straight sets.
Liam was up against the younger of the Davies dynasty. with JD providing expert advice and guidance between matches Lewis would battle back from 2-0 down to force a deciding 5th game, where Liam would get ahead and stay ahead to secure the win. A wonderful advert for the junior squash programmes at both clubs !
Tom and Lewis knocked ten bells out of the ball with the front of the court being a foreign country and drop shots as rare as a dodo. Lewis survived a spirited fight back from Tom in third saving five game balls before converting his second match ball to secure the win for our guests.
no such thing as a dead rubber in this league but Ackerley was amazing and just too good for Max who would cover every board of the court to no avail.
So super squash all round and all finished by 9pm !!!!
