Report:Brookside No 2 ~ Pete Morgans not on system

An absolute pleasure to welcome a new team and new faces to The Flacca as Brookside made, for them, the relatively short journey from Oswestry to Tattenhall.

there must have been a Halloween hex in the air as a number of players failed to covert game / match balls at the first attempt ~ the main culprit being Whitey in failing to convert 9 game balls before losing the marathon second game, then 7 game balls in the third before scraping it 12 -10 and to cap it all six match balls before finally edging the fourth. Although this was to be as good as it would get for the the hosts as valiant efforts all round only produced hard earned points rather than wins.

Dan and Mark were evenly matched but it was Dan who would get ahead and stay ahead to win 3-0.

Liam started well and won the first but Seb with the whole team giving guidance between games proved too strong and our guests had another 'W' on the board.

in the absence of Captain Adam, Pete was making his NWCSL debut and wily old willo's brand of tippy tappy squash appeared to bamboozle him and willo was one up. Another between game conference and Powerful Pete came out with all guns blazing and produced fireworks which would be worthy of next sunday night to blow willo away and the bonus points were heading back over the border to Shropshire.

So once again it was a full balcony with glasses charged, ready for the No 1s to go on court. ranked 4554 and 4459 respectively, they did not disappoint ~ sublime squash with no quarter asked and no quarter given with Dan forging ahead to game ball only to be dragged back to 10 - 10 before a superb second effort to take first and second games 11 -13. The team talk appeare dto have little effect as Cobberz cruised to win the third and home hopes were high that a comeback was on the cards. The Halloween hex was back as Dan squandered match balls before digging deep to finally bring home the bacon 12-10 in the fourth.

So another great night of Thursday night squash and new friends made, who are a very welcome addition to the NWCSL family.
