| Report: | Tattenhall juniors arrived early so they could get some pre match practice in before Delamere arrived.
First on was Ryan v Alex. Alex looked the stronger player and got off to a quick start in the first game. But Ryan eventually got warmed up and started to play some good squash, Ryan scraped the 1st, Alex upped the pace to take a close 2nd. After that Ryan took control to win the first match for Tattenhall.
Then young Fred, making his home debut for Tattenhall, went on against the experienced Leslie. Fred was not put off by the large crowd and played some superb squash. It was great to watch and Leslie just couldn't find a way to get into the game. Match to Tattenhall.
Then Ethan v Rick. Ethan played good controlled squash. He was a bit loose at times which allowed Rick to step in and build some points. But in each game Ethan dug in and made sure he won 3- 0.....impressive.
Then no 2 string, Liam v Greg (the baker?). Greg was confident wearing his new magic glove......was it legal?. But Liam dominated the first game. Then the glove came off and Greg won the next 2, very close, games. The fourth was tight and Greg went 14-11 match ball up. Liam tightened up his serve and put some effort in and clawed the game back to take the match to a nail biting 5th. Liam took it 15-11.
Last on young Tom against a quality player Alan Williams. Tom played some good squash and battled well. But, Alan had many years of experience and was able to control the game with solid lengths and width combined with accurate short shots. Alan won 3-0, despite Tom's efforts.
Match finished 4-1 to Tattenhall. Well done boys. |
