Report: | we all know that consumption of alcohol, particulaly in excess can be hamful to our health but so can the preparation of alcohol as ketts while out dogging ~ sorry dog walking ~ went to pick sloe berries for his Chistmas Gin but overstretched, tumbled in to a ditch and knackered his knee so with Dabsy away golfing, Georgie boy nursing a slight strain and Cobbers baby sitting your correspondent arrived at Hare Lane feeling a sense of deja vu only to be greeted by Ric and Carl also called up this week.
Fireman Sam Sykes and Ice Man frostie were first on with Frostie adamant that last time out (possibly when they were both playing in the junior ranks) he had beaten Kieran 3-0, well if he had lightning was about to strike twice as Frostie put the visitors one -up and a possible shock was in the offing.
On Court 2 willo and carl were having a right old tussle with Carl just holding his nerve to go two up. willo edged the third but was always playing catch up in the fourth and three monumentous rallies to bring him level at 8-8 were to be his undoing as Carl reasserted his authority to close out the match and level the match scores.
Allegedly Carl's heart rate rose to 170 beats pe minute which was possibly due to the occasional altercation with Marker Lewis rather than combatting willo's tippy tappy squash
back on the glass back Ric was getting less change out of Charlie than he got from Ketts last week as the Tattenhall man stormed into a two set lead then faltered as RIc saved six match balls to take the fourth. That was to be as good as it got for Ric as Charlie regained his composure to close out the match and put the visitors 2-1 up.
However, any hopes of the bonus points being taken back down the A41 were cruelly snuffed out by some superb, sublime squash firstly by Lewis then by Joe who is an absolute shark at No 3 because despite what squash levels say he surely should be playing at No 1 ?!?!
following last week's fantastic Lamb Curry this week Mo Gomes of Dougherty & Allen produced a wonderful Turkey Chasseur (Turkey in October ??) washed down with copious quantities of beer and analising past results and making some possible predictions for matches to come including the possibility of a rolling back the years mouth watering match up of Karl Hardy v JD at Tattenhall next Thursday as Paddy Power favourites Wrexham Brymbo travel to the Flacca
Huge thanks to Joe for being last man standing for our hosts as the bar closed at 10.30 and your correspondent arived home far earlier than usual where i am sure a shadowy figure ran across our back garden with what looked like his clothes over his arms !! |
