Report

Report:CCO Number 5 was Ian Wade (ES ref 2559703)

so the second half of the season gets under way with 9th v 10th (bottom) andthe Brymbo boys heading stealthily up A483 with covid passports and vaccination cards in their wallets just in case Mark Drakeford ws waiting at the border.

willo was the first home player to arrive and just about managed to persuade Jamie to leave his computer game and instagram posts to get the match underway. Youth & enthusiasm v age & experience (well ~ just age really!)

Jamie comfortably won the warm up and stormed away to take the first game, but like the African tribal chief in the film 'Zulu' wily old willo was just 'counting his guns'. (my excuse for starting too slowly)

Lewis informed Jamie of what we all know would happen next ~ the willo waltz ... slow, slow, slower still ~ which saw willo take an early lead which Jamie pulled back before willo's lack of pace saw him sneak the second.

Given Jamie's prowess in the air, willo had to resort to a ground attack to cries of 'keep it straight mate' and sadly the young man 'did not like it down the middle' as some of willo's shots went wayward. One audacious lob had Jamie reaching for his 'phone to book an Uber as he sadly ended up on his a**e.

the momentum stayed with the host as jamie was well and truly willo'd.

but this was as good as it would get for CCO as Wadey making his CCO debut following his big money transfer from Brymbo (they paid us!) got little change out of Big Al.

Joseph 'keen as mustard' following warm upmatches with Charlie carus and Dabsy earlier in the week found Rhys too hot to handle in the battle of the celts, which may be a marker for the six nations match on Saturday.

Nathan and Lewis had another one of their humdinger battles with Lewis saving numerous game balls to leave Nathan rueing missed opportunities.

i have often said that there is no such thing as a dead rubber and the finale was something to behold as Burroughes bamboozled Mark with some absolutely ridiculous shots but was unable to press home his advantage and it was our guests who would secure valuable points to take back over the border and up a few places in the league table.

following last week's international incident when the China Garden lady could not understand Joseph's Derry dialect it was left to Wadey to order the banquet ~ well worth the wait !!
