Report

Report: Another tough night for the Brooklands boys. It was always going to be an uphill battle without the Surgeon Waq The Knife, however, the NHS will always come first.
The night didn’t start well with the Air Traffic Controller having to pull out after the 3rd game due to a family illness. Our best wishes to him and his wife. So, we were one down.
Next on was the return of Gareth if I only had a drop shot in my armoury I would play one Williams. Against Charlie The Junior Wizard Beauchamp. No drop shot Gareth took a tight 1st game, but the wizard came back at him to win the 2nd. The 3rd went to no drop shot but the wizard must have had JK Rowling in his corner and with the precision of a seeker and a squash racket equivalent to a Nimbus 2000 took the next 2 games to win 3 to 2.
Could Charles The Artist Hickson save the match against Jake I have a better moustache than Hercule Poirot Coomber-Moore. Alas the colour fast brush stroke shots that served him well the week before had faded away and his portrait became a Dire Strait well, he is a mean guitarist after all.
The match was lost. However, the highlight of the night was the debutante Tim The double handed back hand Wrinch against Jack The James Willstrop Look alike Wright. What a game we were treated to from 2 of the up-and-coming future giants of the game. Well, they are both over 6 foot tall. Tim gave a brave fight but the tricks off the Look-a- likes racket were superb and he took the win 3 to 1
So could Geoff The Pensioner Walton bring some respectability to the Brooklands score card. He was up against Steve I only use squash as a training session to prepare for the Tour De France Ward. The first 2 games were as tight as the man that wakes up ever night to see if he has lost any sleep, with the pensioner taking them. However, the use or all the Pensioner gamesmanship skill were not enough, and the win went to the cyclist.
The night ended with gourmet Burger and Chips so with sad hearts but full stomachs the Brooklands boys move on to fight another day.
