Report: | with only Barnton, Liverpool Cricket Club and Woolston to their east, our guests made their regular Thursday night expedition through the Mersey Tunnel and down the M53.
Frostie and Matt had their usual five setter with Matt edging it this time. Having survived a scrape with the boulangerie in the second game, willo finally held a game ball in the third but appears to have forgotten how to win that elusive final point.
Graham took a game off Jack, albeit in controversial circumstances as on game ball Jack asked confidently for a let, only to look up to the balcony and realist that he was the only person, even amongst hos own team, who thought it was a let. However rather like the incredible hulk turning green this galvanised Jack into action and Graham would only score two more points !
Roy pushed young John close without success and then as regular readers will know there really is no such thing as a dead rubber as Steve and Dave played out the match of the night with our guest taking the spoils in five.
rather like Lord Sugar's search for a new business partner our quest for new players goes on, so if you are called by an unknown number between now and 31st October it could be willo or Frostie, if so ……. are you available on Thursday evenings ???? |
