Report

Report: Well this on paper for Lymm was always a very topugh match even with a full squad, but with Darren, Richard and Peter missing and some willing division 5 players moving up, anything other than a 5-0 win for Woolston was virtually impossible to imagine.

Woolston were very focussed on the 20 points to keep them comfortably ahead of Alderley Park in the race for the title.
Peter V Woolston Old Boy Kevin on first and to be fair Kev put up a decent fight running himself into the ground to compensate for Pete's more accurate racket skills. But it was too much in the end with Pete taking the points 3-0.

Matt on next and Chris was a willing opponent, with enthusiastic running. And to be fair Chris was probably the toughest opponent of the evening, but Matts relentless tight shots proved too much, and another 3-0 win.

That was the end of Lymms division 3 regulars and now it was down to the willing Div 5 players to get some much needed points.
Dave V Matt next with Matt giving his all in the first to lose 11-7. But Dave had the £ in comp in his mind and was in no mood to give points away taking the next 2 games with just 3 points dropped.
So the match in the bag now Woolston sent on Ian against an inexperienced Dave. Dave gave lots of effort but Ian racket skills were way too much for Dave to get near and another comfortable 3-0 to Woolston.
Last on John Boy Finn, who had been suffering a bad back all week. Could he come good against a very experienced Roger? Well to be fair the 2 division gap was not as obvious as some of the previous matches and John would probably say he was comfortable and respectful. Roger did his team proud and was always in the match but lost out 3-0.
So maximum 20 points for Woolston and thanks Lymm for putting a willing side out, great bunch of lads.
