Report

Report: Well it was the Local derby of Lymm 1 V Woolston 1.
On paper an easy win for Woolston who at top of the league hoped to brush bottom team Lymm aside.

So First on this week was Number 4s, John Boy Finn V Peter Asaad. Well Peter started well while his engine was fresh and got the first point on the board for Lymm. John managed to steady the ship in the second and eventually the 3rd but both were very close. So 2-1 to Woolston, could Peter get lever, well his mind said yes but the legs were not with him, losing 11-5 for a 3-1 to John.

Next on Number 1's Matt V Darren, who was adamant he was club number 1. To be fair it was closer than we thought on the court but the scores didn't say that, with Matt cruising through all three games as expected. Darren played some good squash but Matts anticipation and fitness were just too much for Darren.

Pete Kelly V Chris Drath up next at 3. Pete started much better with Chris preferring the tin early on. But just as we thought Pete was going to go 2-0 up at 10-6, Chris really got going, and managed to pull it all the way back to 10-10 eventually going on to win 13-11 with lots of energy on court. But all that effort seemed to take away all that energy and Pete showed his class taking both the next 2 games fairly comfortably.
So with the match in the bag for Woolston could they get the much needed promotion hunting 20 points.
Well Dave V Richard at No;2, It started a scrappy affair but Dave scraped through and started to find a bit of form to win the 2nd too. But to be fair Richard wound himself up and just as Dave was thinking it was going to be a short night he came storming back to win the next and stay in the game. But it wasn't to be a dream fightback and Dave took the 4th and the match.

Last up was Supersub Andy Jameson against an old team mate Kev Goulden. And arguably the match everyone wanted to see. And the best match was save until last with both players unwilling to let anything go, scrapping for every ball.
And the match was a cracker swinging 1 way then the other and inevitably going to the 5th game. Andy just about showed enough quality at the end using an effective drop shot which had Kev all over the court. So 3-1 and Woolston bagged the 20 points.
Cracking night with a good bunch of lads and half decent grub too.
Thanks Boys
