Report

Report: Well Disley played their joker. Yes Robbie where have all my curls gone Williamson was in at 1 and I have to say they needed him. Unfortunately it was no joke for James I’ve got man flu Woodmansey. I suppose the only good thing that came out of the game was Man Flu was never in a position to play a cross court, however he did play the shot of the game with a drop nick from the back forehand corner that left Robbie looking for his hair straighteners.
So the boys in blue were 1 down in a must win match. Jasper the nappy changing consultant was on next against Ben the grinder Lozel. With nothing to choose between them in ranking points only Darren Brown would have be able to predict the result before they went on. The consultant took the first it appeared the grinder was holding back and keeping his distance perhaps the aroma of the last nappy change was still lingering. However the speed of the grinder I suspect acted as an extraction fan neutralising the pooh and he took the second to level at 1-1. The 3rd went the way of the consultant he must have bluetoothed the odour back on court as he took the game. But he is not called the Grinder for nothing as he proved too much for Mr Nappy. So the boys in blue were 2 – 1 down.
So could Geoff the pensioner Walton salvage the match against Gary my knees are knackered Williamson. What do you think NO but he gave his all with a little help from Mr knackered knees who gave away 10 strokes. Perhaps he should try stroking those locks then father and son would be indistinguishable together. So Disley were three up taking all the bonus points.
But valuable points were at stake that could determine the boys in blue div 3 survival.
Our leader and skipper Gareth Mr reliable Williamson was next on playing Ben where’s my phone, my wallet and my racket Darlington. We did not need Darren Brown to predict the outcome of this one and Mr reliable took the game 3-1.
MR Artistic Mike Selisny against Malcolm you don’t look a day over 70 Balls went on next. The artistry was sublime his ground strokes painted the way to success leaving Mr 70 wishing he had played the pensioner (Doesn’t everyone it’s a cert win).
So the first half is over and the boys in blue are the strongest team in the league at the bottom. Well you know what they say it’s not over until the fat lady sings, but to be honest if she can play squash the she is in
Merry Christmas to you and all your families I hope 2019 brings you all everything you wish for as for the pensioner I just need a win
