Report

Report:Forget the Manchester Derby this weekend this was the match the whole of south Manchester wanted to be at. The ticket touts where out to make a killing and they did with only room for two dogs and a hamster left. It was hard for the crowd to control themselves the tension was electric, you could cut the atmosphere with a plastic knife sharp objects were not allowed at the match mainly because of the age of the players the grey hair on display was like a premature Christmas scene.
So to the game first up was the young pretender Gareth how do you play a drop shot when at the front of the court Williams against Andy I always look and feel knackered Booth. The young pretender coasted to a two love lead only to be pulled back by September’s player of the month. So it went to 5 and what a fifth set ebbing one way and then the other and with victory within his grasp the young pretender tried to play a drop shot and red cheeks Booth snatched the win.
Then came the rubber that the crowd had been waiting for, Geoff the pensioner Walton against Mark I can get the ball back from anywhere on the court Ford and he flipping well did. I know you can’t believe this but with the R in the month being key the pensioner took it in 5 his first win of the campaign and probably his last, so the scores were equal.
Next to go on was Jasper new dad without any sleep Palmer Claus against Will I have not broken a racket in anger for at least a month Hanson. It was a close match even the hamster looked up but with the only racket left in his kit bag Will took the honours.
Rubber 1 cannot be reported on for security reasons but it went the way of Nick the length Bishop.
So the seconds now had the match, but pride was at stake and Mike I have a bad leg, hip, elbow in fact I’m a wreck Selisny wanted to prove a point against Al the fisherman Connor. The wreck took the first game but the fisherman was too strong and too fit not to mention the advantage he gained from the glare of the shaven head. So the better team won as it should be there was a little crowd trouble at the end with the hamster being ate by the dog well at least he got a decent meal at the end of the night.
