Report

Report:With just two matches of the season remaining, St Asaph hosted Heswall 1 in a winner take all top of the table clash.

Boosted by Alex's return from his global travels, hopes were high for a competitive match.

Imagine the surprise of the home team when Heswall paid them the compliment of drafting in the first and second string players from their second team. Leaving the second team to perish 5/0 at home against the might of Xavarian. What's the saying- 'one for all and all for one!'

The first two matches went the way of the away team with Andy and Mike (or was it Mike and Andy, we can never tell) beating Hari & Ben for the loss of one game.

Next up was the match of the night with Chris playing Tom at 5 (yes that's right, Tom played at 5) Looking as his next breath would be his last, Chris somehow took it into the fifth and eventually prevailed in a high quality, hard hitting, racket busting fast paced game.

Next up, and starting at the same, were the No1 and No2 strings from St Asaph against the No1's from the visitors first and second team.

Alex's lack of game time proved to much of a handicap and he lost 3/1 against Mike, whilst George and Mark renewed their rivalry in a match of high quality, with George prevailing 3/1

St Asaph started the evening 8 points ahead of Heswall and lost 17/8

Should Heswall 1 prevail next week we wish them well in Division 1......................................
