Report

Report: Following last week's win against Mollington Banastre the tattenhall boys had high hopes of another win tonight against a Whitby team for whom Captain John was hoping to avoid being dragged into a relegation dogfight.

Their talisman Charlie was back but still no Irish Joe so Hemmo was at No 2 and delighted to be on first.

Last week Giles had strated slowly but then recovered to produce a MOM performatnce to bring home the bacon on only our second win of the season.

This week he also started slowly but Hemmo with the scent of a barmaid's apron in his nostrils would not let giles back in the match and stormed to a 3-0 win and was quickly off to the bar.

Mike is still dining out on his magnificent win at neston a few weeks ago and had winless willo in his crosshairs for another potential scalp.

Mike likes to play a slow game, willo likes to play a slower game and for the first two games wily old willo had the upper hand. mid game coaching from the Whitby Boys ' just whack it !!' so he did very successfully and won the third.

but 'just whack it' does have it's perils as it can be rather tiring and so it proved as willo just about had the legs to edge the fourth and record his first win of the season.

mike was straight off to join hemmo in the bar

No joe and No dave so fletch had been called up again and found himself designated driver.

Craig would prove to be just too strong and the hosts were 2-1 up and thinking about a possible win, particularly as harvey has been in great form recently seeing him climb up the squash levels ladder

some hard hitting and frantic running made for some amazing rallies but also a few unforced errors. John made fewer than harvey who never really got started and the match was level.

better availability and players retunring from injury and their holibobs meant that Jonny was at number one against a returning Charlie.

more hard hitting mixed with some amazing drops and drives found both players covering every board on the court in some rather lengthy rallies and although Tattenhall 1s v Brookside on the other court was tempting, nobody was taking their eyes off our match which jonny eventually won to earn the hosts valuable points as they try and chase down Heswall 3 with Mollington and whitby being a little closer up the road.

just time to watch the evergreen Eddie Prust (more clubs than Tiger woods) edge past Tattenahall's cobberz before joining hemmo & mike in the bar where it was pork steaks, peppercorn sauce, mash and veg washed down with copious amounts of moretti and Fletch wondering if they would be leaving before midnight

how the converstion got onto vasectomies i do not know but Mike has a snip hotline and rumours of him receiving commission are completely untrue.
