Report

Report:Last home game of the season for The Whitby Boys and I know my liver & bank account can’t wait for it to be over as we entertain 4th spot Neston.

Up first was Dave v Simon with the latter proving to be a tricky opponent for Dave who couldn’t get to grips with his game or his own for that matter. A shakey opening exchanges of games took place before Dave finally settled himself and bossed the 4th to take the match 3-1.

Next on was Hembo v Rob who need to leave early, Hembo complied and dispatched him in record time to help him on his way.

Up next (John v Shaun) was more a comedy show than a squash match with John running around like a headless chicken at times. At 2-1 down there was a little composure brought back into his game to make the tie interesting but too little too late as Shaun diving heroics won him the match and the keys to 242 : - (

Next on (Shaun v Pete) could have been billed as the battle of Britton as 2 opponents renowned for their love of each other went head to head. Pete dominated the early exchanges before being sucker punched in the 2nd game. Pete came back with just enough fight to take the 3rd before yet again being caught off guard by Shauns ability. Both slogged it out in the 5th and final before Shaun rope – a – doped to victory to give Whitby a crucial win.

Last on as always was Charlie facing off against Rob. Let’s be honest it’s never gonna be a fair fight with Charlie in a completely different weight class (no offence Rob) Charlie eased to a 2-0 lead before using the 3rd and final game as more of a training session before finalising 4-1 win for Whitby.

So all is done at Whitby for this season looks like we’ll just come up short of promotion but there’s always next year, nothing more to say than it’s been emotional!
