New boy Nige started for Whitby and after two years off the court showed a lot of rustiness. Let's be honest Keith was too good.
Jimmy again stepping up to save his beloved first team did the business again to come through in 5.
John was next and biting at the bit to get started, he must have left the blinkers on as Ian raced into a quick lead, which he only just managed to keep, to win the first. John then settled down and comfortably took the next three games for the win.
Shaun then went on to win the match for Whitby and after totally outplaying Matt in the first two games, somehow succumbed to a late surge from super-fast Matt.
So, Andy had the pleasure of going out with the match tied at 2-2. Being somewhat broken at this time it was expected to be a quick affair with Matt the easy winner. As you can see from the scores in the three games Andy lost, they were no contest, so how he managed to win the other two games only Matt can explain.
