| Report: | While the world outside was going crazy trying to stop mad man Putin and his red arm. The Brooklands Blue army were really showing their colours and comradeship
We knew we were in for a hard battle when Spiros The Greek Papaglimis turned up with his entire family in support. The last time the bar was this full was when the Pensioner was a junior, squash rackets were wooden and smaller than the supper portions.
First on was Al The Hells Angel Connor against Jordon if only I had kept up my weight watcher’s membership Jozefczyk. A tough game for the Hells Angel losing 3-0 to the weight watcher who was spurred on by his young pretender son a great lad but couldn’t hold onto his hot chocolate topped with marshmallows.
Next on was Andy I love a spread sheet Booth trying to calculate a win against Steve the voice White. Andy took the first game, but the voice pitched up to win in 4
It looked all over for the boys in blue or could Geoff the pensioner Walton pull off a win against Spiros the Greek Papaglimis and his family that were still in the bar. After two games all looked lost for the pensioner but out of nowhere there was a chink of light as he took the next 2 games. So, onto the 5th it went one way and then the other and at 9 all it was there for the taking. However unbeknown to the pensioner Spiros the Greek had smashed a few plates in the bar before the 5th which inspired a win
The boys in blue were now playing for pride and it was up to Nick the number cruncher Bishop to restore some and he did against Jack I play much better when I wear my spectacles Korny by winning 3-1
So only the number ones to play. James the head band Wooderson against Steve Mr Majestic Gregory. A tight first two games at one each will the rest be as tight well unfortunately the only thing that was tight after the first two games was Mr Majestics groin that forced his retirement.
At the finish the question on every ones lips was if only the pensioner could of beaten the man from Greece it would of been a perfect night for the boys in blue.
