| Report: | With a last minute withdrawal by one of the Whitby boys(sprung a water leak at home) Whitby yet again were not at full strength.
First up Shaun (yes, he does play early once in a lifetime). He's on a good run of form lately and it showed tonight as he showed his usual aplomb with expert skills for an easy win.
Tom next, after a slow start, the rash grew from strength to strength to take Whitby into a 2-0 lead. If Shuan had aplomb then Tommy had a pineapple.
Bob and Jim went on at the same time with Jim being off court so quick, Bob was only just into his second game, he made a valiant effort in the 3rd only to succomb in the end.
So after taking the first two game Whitby thought they were on for a comfortable win, No, its 2-2 because the two old farts lost?
So its left to Andy to uphold Whitby rule. John had other ideas (awkward B.....D) and a see saw game finally went to the 5th (as it should). It was Andy though, who waltzed to a great win.
So, two old farts failed to give Whitby an emphatic win, only for the other three old farts to win it and take the Whitby honours.
