our friends from Neston traveled along A540 seeking to extend the home teams barren season.
No Charlie for CCO due to a twisted ankle. He may have a Chinese girlfriend, but at the moment he's more fragile than a china doll !
sadly, a leaky roof had caused damage to the floor of court 1, so we were down to just one court and so it was probable that this could be a long old night. :-(
Nige and James traded 12-10 games and an 11-9 third game which could have gone either way before Nige got ahead and stayed ahead to put the hosts one up, then rush off home to pack his bags for a weekend in Monte Carlo ..... Happy 50th Birthday Sue!!
Trev, stepping up from third team, quickly found himself two down but as ever staged a mighty comeback in the third, and looked as though he could be taking the match beyond three games, but Andy saved five game balls before taking his own match ball and we were all square,
Once again, willo was unsuccessful in getting any change out of Phil and our guests were two one up.
Apparently, Gibbo had broken Jacko's nose in a previous encounter, but this did not stop the boys going about their business at a frenetic pace, hammer and tongs and it was the home guy who would prevail, setting up a dramatic finale which would see Gareth, choosing to opt for his badminton style of squash, bamboozle Potts for two games, overcome a comeback from our visitor in the third before clinging on in the fourth to secure CCO 2 first win of the season,
and so to the CHICKEN DINNER as Jacko was in charge of the China Garden order including Lemon Chicken & boiled rice among some different dishes tonight..... yum ! yum!
could this be the start of a CCO 2 revival. Well, thanks to NWCSL scheduling we'll have to wait four weeks to find out !!!
