Report

Report:Happy New Year or Blwyddyn Newydd Dda as our guests might say. For some it was perhaps too new a new year as some were away ski-ing and others were in their sick beds. others were distracted by a certain football match that was on every TV screen at Fortress CCO or showing on many hand held devices.

Nathan and Graeme were keen to get on and our guest was to have the edge in two tight games. Nathan flew out of the traps in the third and it was all Graeme could do to salvage a point and avoid a quick visit au boulangerie. sadly, Nathan could not maintain his fine form and our visitors were one - up.

Stuart was full of cold but unlike others we could mention was playing for the good of the team. we should point out that a hot toddy and a night nurse to soothe your chest is the way to get rid of a cold not running 14 miles up and down Moel Fammau in this freezing weather !!!

willo was showing no sympathy whatsoever and the hosts were back in the match.

it was half time in that football match so Gareth tore himself away from the TV lounge but must still have been pre-occupied as he recorded the first bagel of the new year. He was quickly back in the room though and stormed ahead and stayed ahead to draw level,

However, this was to be as good as it got as graham learning that some games at the top of divi 3 are tougher than those at the bottom of Divi 2 dug deep to put the hosts ahead in the match.

in the middle order Daz and Dean toiled valiantly bot Nige and Dave proved too strong and brought home the bacon for CCO to avenge their Day 1 reversal.

so a bit of an early night but plaenty of time for beer (for those not a Dry January) Chinese (for those not starting new diets) and bantah, particularly as Trev was back from neston with news that our seconds had won 5-0 which means that with our 3rds winning 5-0 over a Jeff Jones less Delamere Park Nathan was our only loser on the night !!

On a sadder note, Trev also informed us of the passing of Winsford legend and Cheshire Squash stalwart Reg Mather. We pass on our condolences to Winsford Squash Club and Toby and the Mather Family for their loss at this sad time,
