Report

Report: with Cobden back on first team duty. Wimpenny selling sand to the Arabs, Roy still injured and Dave Vale still sunning himself in the Seychelles, Tony App got the call to make his season debut back in Divi 3 and when dave jack reported a dodgy Achilles at 3pm our squad depth was emphasised as Keith rallied to the clarion call.

first order of the day was to allow Fireman Sam Karl to play early and report for duty by 8.30pm, so a 6.30pm start was organised and Karl was obviously hoping to be there by 8pm as he soared into a 10-5 lead, only to be pegged back to 10=10 then both players played that nobody wants to win it until karl edged it 17-15. the second game was a tighter affair until 8-8 when Karl rushed ahead and was 2-0 up. a quick glance at the clock and all was well in the world.

wily old willo had other ideas and the pace slowed significantly, his serve hugged the side wall and came down with early autumn ice on them and three shot rallies became the order of the day and we were back to 2-2 then willo was quickly 8-0 up and surviving a late onslaught from Karl to put the hosts one up, leaving Karl wondering what went wrong as he hopes for a quiet night in Liverpool.

Nathan calmed the whirling Dervish that was young Dan taking a 2-0 lead. Dan went off searching for a new grip and returned revitalised but could not quite convert his early lead in the third and the hosts were two matches to the good.

Nige and mark served up some scintillating squash and a few skirmishes around the T with mark producing a splendid comeback to make it 2-2 but Nige recovering well to seal the match and the bonus points for CCO.

at 4 and 5, Keith and Tony were ruthless in securing all 20 points for CCO and we were 'done and dusted' by 9.20pm.

plenty of time for a bit of chat and an awesome Kam Xin Chinese
