Report

Report:Well it was relegation battling Crewe Vagrants 4 this week and hopefully maximum points for Woolston in their promotion hunt.

As it was Matt's birthday again, is that 3 times already this season Matt? He wanted to go on first to get to get to the bar early!
But with new signing Sean coming in and playing at 1, Matt was number 2 and in search of the £ in!
He didn't mess about either and was a different class to Rennie to be fair and despatched him for just 8 points in total!

Next on and Ian Braveheart Tennant, fresh from his comeback and shot of the season performance the last match. Playing at 5 in John's unapproved Absence, he started very well taking the first 2 games comfortably. Then just when he looked like taking the match serving at 10-6 up...... Well what can only be described as "being a knobhead" he did his showboating roundhouse serve that bamboozled last weeks opponent! But this time Brynn his young opponent was onto it killing the serve stonedead and taking back control, and amazingly taking the game after his team went crazy. Braveheart had opened a can of worms, with his legs starting to give on him again. Brynn took the 4th to level it. Could Ian muster the energy to snatch the momentum back? Thankfully yes after a very tight 5th game...The words "you D***head" from his team mates ringing loudly in his ears!

Mr Kelly next and still carrying his Hernia injury even though he denies it! Well thankfully he was a class above Andy, despite some tremendous work from his counterpart, Peter slid thru easily like a wet salamander 3-0.

Debutant Sean on next at 1, and having not played team squash for almost a year, albeit in Division 1, did he have the appetite! First game 11-1, he sure did, with a shellshocked Kieron stunned. But to be fair he learned quickly and although there was an obvious gulf in class, Kieron really dug in. Finally losing 11-7 in the 3rd but by far no shame in his performance. A debut win for Sean as he eases back into team squash.

Last on in now his trademark slot was skipper Dave, playing a namesake in Dave Baldwin. Could Woolston complete the 20 point hunt? Well again a gap in ability but Vagrants Dave had a mean boast and put up a good fight using it to good effect but losing 11-7. The next game his boast deserted him and failing to get the ball past Skipper Williams the inevitable loss was on its way, 11-5 11-3 and 20 points bagged.

A great night and good lads as opponents, and with Woolston 2 on the court next door, everybody was absorbed in the final match on the show court as Si Cairns took on Tris Murphy. A great atmosphere but Tris grabbed the win for Warrington 3 with a rugged performance.
