Report

Report:in welcoming ex-CCO stalwart Dazza and his Brymbo team mates, CCO were hoping to achieve a rather remarkable white wash in beating both Brymbo teams both at home and away.

The evening started well with Charlie squeezing through in five sets in the battle of the youngsters. Young Josh has obviously inherited his father's squash gene and his mother's attitude giving Frostie some rather icy stares over some decisions.

definitely one to watch and given the competition for places at Brymbo who knows where he will be playing next season …… Brymbo 1? Brymbo 2? CCO ? watch this space !!

with Dazza and Toughmudder having left their metaphorical 'towels over the sun beds' for Court 2, the number 1 seeds were exiled to the outside court. a cooler court some might say but not evident by the way that Eddie and Jack were smacking the ball around and chasing around like the giddy teenagers they both once were.

Jack stopped rushing around just long enough to get ahead, stay ahead and the match was all square until word came through that the Moreton Hall school minibus was stuck in traffic travelling from Nottingham and Hannah would not be able to get to Fortress CCO much before 10am. usually, we would have two teams at home, so that could work ……. but not tonight so the hosts were 2-1 up.

although the CCO courts had been slightly refurbished since Dazza was last starring for us, he still knew exactly where the nick was widest, the tin was lowest and where the wonkiest floorboards and loosest plaster were to find himself two up. He could not hold back the onslaught from Toughmudder in the third but could remember where the speck of dust that proved so catastrophic for Nigel two years ago was and so it proved as Nige went over on his ankle once again and the boys were shaking hands mid way through the fourth.

so two all , a crowded balcomy, after all it was not yet 9pm so trev, Jack, graham and sat did not have to be home just yet as Frostie and Jonno swapped unforced errors with sheer brilliance in the first which our guest sneaked by the closest of margins, Frostie took the second comfortably but was powerless to stop the devilish double handed bankhands and beautiful boasts as evo ensured that some pride would be salvaged and the bonus points would be heading west along the A55.

Good Luck to everybody who is playing in the North Wales masters this weekend. it looks as though it will be quite an event !

please could some kind soul show the card as follows ~

Graham Cobden w/o Hannah Davies
