Report

Report: we had all been looking forward to this match for weeks so it was a bit of a disappointment when five players had arrived at 7.15pm. seeds 1,3 & 4 for CCO but seeds 2 and 5 from Tattenhall. apparently Tom Hulse was on his way so Frosty was off to do some pre-match warm up with the expectant crowd eagerly awaiting the battle of the top two seeds, but it was Giles who was first through the door swiftly followed by George so it was seeds 3 and 4 that were up and running and Frosty begrudgingly took up his position on the balcony to mark a match.

both sides were under strength and the missing players could make a very strong Divi 2 side indeed.

willo edged past Giles in the 'battle of the slapheads' Graham took the first game against George, then they both played 'first past 4 wins the game' setting up a scintillating fifth which Graham, unusually playing an opponent younger than him, won by the tightest of margins.

with Saints folding their NWCSL team, Whitey had completely conned Tom into playing with the old ...... 'you'll only be needed when we're short and you won't be needed to play above Number 4 seed '..... NOT!!!

as ever, for such a large chap, Tom's mobility is phenomenal and his touch is superb but Frosty was just too good on this occasion and the match was won for CCO.

Whitey, rueing the unavailability of Tattenhall stalwarts Ketts & Fish and Summer signings Sean Hunter and Karl hardy found himself, once again, playing up the order where, despite a superb rearguard action in the third found Joseph was just too strong and CCO had another tick in the W column.

last match on was Divi 2 debutant Tony having unusually for him only made the short journey up the M6 from Stone against Tattenhall legend Salty who was to impose his style of play on the youngster and capitalise on any loose play to secure a valuable three points for the visitrors.

with just one team at home, this meant a reasonably early finish. plenty of beers and bantah and once again 40% of orders over £35 at Pizza Hut ....... Happy days !!!
